Day 243-Christmas in . . . August?
Today while I was walking to work, I saw them (the peoples) putting the lights on trees for Christmas!

Day 232-Chess
Chess in Concert was in London when I was in London, but I couldn't get tickets because they were £60 (~$120). But I really wanted to because Josh Groban was playing, and we all know how much I love Josh. Two girls from my study abroad went to it though.
So, three years later I'm at the library and come across the DVD. I thought, hey Josh Groban and some really obscure musical about Chess? Why not.
It's a really strange story, but Josh is (of course) fabulous, as is Idina Menzel and Adam Pascal. There are some really nice songs, with lyrics written by Tim Rice.

Day 230-Squeel!
It was a normal day at work today. But I did learn the advantage of having a desk across from the bathrooms.
There was something a little strange. A lady was being shown the restroom and the employee showing her was treating her like someone special:
"If you need water, just let us know." "If you want anything from the vending machines, we can do that."
And I'm thinking, Okay, who is this and why is she so special?
At about 11 o'clock, she went to the bathroom again. There was an older guy with her and he asked me a question. I answered, and then the lady came out and I talked to her for a little bit. They were leaning up against my partition of my cube. And then, it happened.
Out of the men's room walks a kid. He looks at me, smiles, and says, "Hey."
"Hey." I return his smile. And then I realize something. It was David Archuleta!
He spoke to me!
As he walked away, I really wished that I weren't at my place of work or I would have taken a picture or something. But I was professional and didn't freak out or anything.
At least, not until he had walked away. Then I got out my phone and texted my friend. The thing is? I'm not even that big of a fan. I have two of his songs on my iPod, and I think he has a great voice, but I'm not a huge fan. Still, he is famous! And I said "Hey" to him!

Day 224-I Saw the Sign
I was watching a clip from The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson the other day and his guest (Johnny Galecki from The Big Bang Theory) was talking about riding on his motorcycle and making a sign to other bikers that means "Hey, 'Sup." It was a funnier story than I'm making it seem.
Anyway. Today I was behind a motorcycle (who changed lanes in front of me without signaling, AND I had to put on the brakes he was so close), and he would raise his hand and make this sign. I was a little confused at first, and then I remembered! After that, every time he made the sign, it made me happy because I knew what it meant. It was like being part of a sub-group of society or something.
And then I took this creeper picture of him in my rearview mirror after he ended up behind me.

Day 220-DIY
I do not consider myself a "crafty" person (a person who likes and can do crafts, not a person who uses clever and deceitful methods to get gain), but I was put in charge of a craft for a Relief Society activity in a few months and decided to make these way cute notebooks:
So easy to make! These took about 5 minutes each, though the second took a bit longer because I was trying to figure out the best way to arrange the buttons.

Day 217-Short Day and Short Jeans
Back in grade school, we had this thing called "short days;" every Friday we got out at 1:30. Well, today was my short Friday. I got home at 2:00 this afternoon.
Because I got home early, and we had a 15% off card, my dad and I went to Kohl's. We both needed jeans. Men are so lucky; they have a waist size and a length, they pick a style they like and voila. Shopping done. As for me: every brand of jean means that I have to figure out what size I wear. But that's not even the hardest part about picking out jeans. I, unfortunately, have short legs, which means that I have to buy "short" jeans. Unfortunately, as I found out today, it is very hard to find short jeans.
Eventually I did find some, after searching through three sets of shelves, and being disappointed that one style I liked didn't come in short.

Day 216-Reread Experiment
I read this the first time in high school (I'm not sure which year . . .) and I remember liking. Well, I got a copy at the Border's closing sale and have started reading it. I understand it and love it so much more than I did as a teenager. I had to keep myself from crying on the train today.
My advice? Find a book you read in high school and read it again.
