Day 120-Adventures in Sewing

As I was sewing, the needle of the machine hit a pin and broke, causing the pin to be fantastically bent, as you can see.

Day 119-Royal Wedding

Yes, I did wake up at 2:30 am to watch the wedding. No, I don't regret it.

Day 118-Look at the Past

Let's take a look at the past. Three years ago today, I was here:
On my way to spending eight weeks here:

Day 116-National Free Pretzel Day

I went to the dentist, then to DI to buy some VHS tapes, and then it was free pretzel time from PretzelMaker! yum!

Day 114-Easter Sunday

Carl Bloch
"Why seek ye the living among the dead? For he is not here, he is risen!" Oh, hallelujah!

Day 111-Band-Aid

Is it bad that I'm 23 years old and don't own any band-aids that don't have hello kitty on them?

Day 107-Visiting Teachers

This is to show how awesome the people in my ward are. I just barely got visiting teachers. We've met once. And today, one of them not only remembered that my birthday was around this time, but got something for me! How sweet was that?

Day 106-The Hasty Heart

About two months ago I thought to myself: "Self, I'd really like to go see a play." And I responded: "You know, self, that sounds like a great idea. Let's see what's playing at the Hale." The Hale Centre Theatre, for those of you not privileged enough to know, it one of the best little theatres in the state. There are two, one in West Valley and one in Orem. Anyway, I went on the website, found that The Hasty Heart was playing, remembered seeing that in Orem with m y grandparents, and bought a ticket. The performance I went to was the first performance of this play's run (the Hale has a season of about 6 plays, plus A Christmas Carol every year.) Here is the theatre:
After the show, because I was in the neighborhood and you always need to go if you are in the neighborhood, I got dinner at the Greek Souvlaki:
Oh, heaven! So yummy. If nothing else, their saffron rice just makes me want to moan it's so good.

Day 105-Books! Books! Books!

My favorite store. I just love walking in and getting that book smell and being around all those books.
Of course, it's impossible for me to leave without buying something. I just love books! I know everyone says "that's what libraries are for," but there is something about owning books, and having them on your bookshelf. There is just something homey and cozy about books on a shelf.
And of course, you can't buy a new book without smelling it! New book smell is one of my favorite smells--the ink, and paper, and glue mixing together to cause a rush to your head as you breath in deeply. Ahhh!

Day 104-A Late Present!

My sister made this for me. It matches the cute apron she made me for Christmas!

Day 102-New Shoes

I have been indulging in "retail therapy" lately. These are my cute new shoes, that I did not necessarily need, but I definitely wanted. (Man, I really hope I don't turn into one of those people who is so depressed they don't have a job that they spend all their money on things they don't need . . .)

Day 101-Work Lunch

We ate at the Garden Restaurant on the 10th floor of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. (I did not take this picture--I forgot to. I am ashamed.)

Day 100-Freshening Up

Sometimes you just need a change. I went out yesterday and bought a couple of new Spring shirts, with pretty feminine details and bright colors. This morning I was looking at my hair and decided that it needed a little freshening up. I didn't have any dye, and don't want to spend any money on it. And I'm trying to grow out my hair so I don't want to get a major haircut. So as I looked at myself in the mirror this morning, I decided to cut my bangs:
It just sort of freshens up my look a little.

Day 99-A King's Speech

My dad treated my mom and me to a movie today. The King's Speech (the re-edited, PG-13 version). Loved it! I have been fascinated with King George VI for years, ever since I saw a PBS special called "Elizabeth and Bertie." I have ever since thought of him as my favorite British monarch (I know, I'm a nerd).
This is the theatre.

In honor of us seeing this film, I have scared up some old pictures--taken about 3 years ago when I was in London. They are of the King George VI stairs. Enjoy:

Day 97-Early Birthday Present

So, my brother sent me this hair thing that the women use in the Dominican Republic to "keep their hair under control." He doesn't remember what they are called, but I'm kinda liking it. It's hard for me to get my hair out of my face since it's short, so when I get home from work, I just put this on and don't have to worry about it.

Day 96-Lots of Photos

Today was photo day at work! This means that all the photos taken at Conference had been gone through and the best ones were put out for the magazines to go through and pick.

Here are what the tables looked like:

And here are a few of my favorites:

Aww! Cute!

Day 94-Meataballs!

I helped my parents make Swedish Meatballs for dinner today. Never made meatballs before (course, I didn't technically make these meatballs either. Mom did).

Day 91-Conference Center Interviews

I was able to go to the Conference Center today and meet some international members as they picked up their tickets. I met a remarkable new convert from Norway who just glowed when she talked about how much she loves the Church. I also met two young ladies from Ireland who had great things to say about having good friends and finding your testimony early in life.
