Day 309-Remember, Remember

The Fifth of November! It's Guy Fawkes Day! I'm still not exactly sure what they are celebrating . . . that the gunpowder plot failed or that Guy Fawkes tried it in the first place . . . Whatever it is, I wish I could be in England to celebrate 'cuz it looks wicked fun!

This is what Wikipedia says: "Celebrating the fact that King James I had survived the attempt on his life, people lit bonfires around London, and months later the introduction of the Observance of 5th November Act enforced an annual public day of thanksgiving for the plot's failure."
