Day 304-Trick or Treat

Probably the only thing I like about Halloween is seeing little kids all dressed up in their costumes.

Day 302-Silly Romance

I know a lot of people don't like this movie, but I think it is so fun!

Day 301-Fallin'

Story time. So, I was headed up to lunch today with two of the girls I work with. Someone had just come out of the door to the stairway, so I thought "I'll run and catch it before it closes!" So I speed up a bit, catch the heel of my boot wrong somehow, go sliding across the floor and end up falling--smack down on my butt!
This is the skid mark from my boot.

I was able to keep from hurting myself in the fall, but the first thing I did when I was down there was burst out laughing! Probably disturbed more than one person on our floor.

Day 300-Thuper Thursday

Sorry the picture is so bad. Today was our Relief Society's "Thuper" Thursday. A craft night that lasted for four hours. Since I am on the activities committee, I had to have a craft to be in charge of. We made these notebooks and they were a hit! People were making so many and the more they made the more creative they were! There were also magnetic chalkboards and Christmas countdown books.

Day 299-Friendly People

(This picture is from the internet, just so you know)

So, I have been constantly reminded the past few months that there are still good people in the world. People who are considerate, and kind, and were taught good manners. One such person is the man who controls the TRAX train I take home from work almost everyday. If there is a problem, he always gets on the intercom and lets the passengers know what is going on. Today, he got on and apologized for the train being a little behind schedule (I didn't even realize it was behind schedule!) both when I got on and when we reached the end of the line. He also said, "You all have a good night." And it sounded like he actually meant it! I have only seen him once, and he looked exactly the way I imagined him from his voice.

Anyway, thanks TRAX controller, for being the kind of person I would want to get to know!

65 days left in the year!

Day 298-Sunbeams

Today, during a otherwise gloomy day, the sun peeked out behind the clouds and a sunbeam fell through the window into my cubicle.

Day 297-"You are the Brute Squad"

Tons of police and bomb squad vehicles across from the TRAX station after work today. All the construction workers were standing around talking to the police.

Day 296-Regional Conference

Elder Bednar gave a wonderful talk at our regional conference today. Excellent.

Day 295-

For my acting class I am doing a monologue from The Diary of Anne Frank. I performed it today. Another girl (a sophomore in high school) is also doing a monologue from Anne Frank (a different one). She mentioned that before choosing the monologue she had never heard of Anne Frank before! I was absolutely shocked!

Day 293-Working Hard or Hardly Working?

Because we have a ton of deadlines coming up, I had to take some work home with me. Honestly, it felt like being back in school (can anyone say "homework"?). Gotta love working on the couch with my jammies on and getting paid for it!

Day 292-Blast from the Past

I don't know if you can tell but that guy is holding a CASSETTE TAPE WALKMAN!! Seriously. I don't think I have seen one of those since I was about 12 or 13. Anyway, when I saw it I just had to take a picture. Do you know how hard it is to be take a creeper picture of someone sitting directly across from you?

Day 291-Handsome Men Keep Me From Going Insane

Let me introduce you to the handsome men I got to spend time with today:

Mr. John Thornton

Captain Wentworth

Mr. Tilney

These men kept me from going insane as I did the same mindless, tedious work for 7 hours.

Day 290-Heavy Heavy Hang

It was my dad's 60th birthday today!

Make a wish!

Two cards, from two completely different people, same message.

A bump on the head!

60 dollars with 60 my mom loves about my dad.

Day 289-Summer to Fall

The problem with wearing dresses and skirts to work every day means that dressing up for church isn't nearly as much fun. True, I do get to curl my hair which I don't get to do during the week (because it would mean waking up 15 minutes earlier and I wake up too early anyway). So, I have to start getting a little inventive on dressing for Sunday. This was my attempt to take a summer dress and turn it into an autumn dress by adding black boots, black cami, dark denim jacket, and statement necklace.

Day 285-Seeing an Old Friend

Okay, it wasn't like this. Today at the train I saw an old home teacher from college. Kind of nice to catch up with someone from the past.

Day 284-Childhood Memories

I don't know how to make it any smaller!!

Anyway, this movie was a big part of my childhood. We called it our "Sunday Movie," and in my mind it seemed like we watched every Sunday (but that is probably not true). I remember cuddling up with my dad to "protect" me from the ROUSs and the Fire Swamp. Anyway, it has been 24 years since it came out and I thought I would share.

Day 282-Hamlet

My dad and I watched David Tennant in Shakespeare's Hamlet--which I love and had to explain to Dad.

Day 281-Fall

After a few days of freezing weather, it finally reverted back to crisp fall weather today. It was lovely. I was able to still drink hot chocolate and made butternut squash soup for dinner. It was the first time I ever had it, but it tastes like fall.

Day 280-Letter

I got a real bonafide letter in the mail today from a very dear friend of mine who is on her mission.

Day 278-At Work with Mom

After work today I traded one library for another. Since it was Parent/Teacher Conferences today, I went to my mom's school and hung out in her library until she was done.

Day 277-Lunch with the Ladies

Liz, Keisha, Kathryn, Melissa, Julia
I had lunch at the Blue Lemon with some girls from work. We got THREE free dishes!

Monday, October 3, 2011

Day 276-Grateful

I am very grateful for my iPod, which makes tedious jobs a little bit more bearable.

Day 275-Finally!

I started reading this back in March, but I finally finished it! I feel so proud of myself!

Day 274-Peaches!!

Conference weekend has started out great! Cleaned my kitchen while listening to the morning session (6 new temples!), then worked on some cross-stitch. I went to my acting class and had fun, was able to catch the last half of afternoon session. When I got home I helped Mom can peaches--the first year I've been able to help! Then when Dad went to priesthood, Mom and I got Greek Souvlaki and watched Soul Surfer. I'm excited for tomorrow.
