Day 152-Free Music Tuesdays
Every week (starting on Tuesday), iTunes gives away at least 2 songs, sometimes up to 4 or 5. Sometimes it's a good thing they are free, but I have also ended up with some songs that become my favorites.

Day 146-Refugee
I have no idea what the "Area of Refuge" is exactly, but every floor at work has a sign announcing it. At first I thought it was a joke, back when I thought it was only for the floor with the break room. But now, I'm not so sure. Why do we need an area of refuge? I don't know. I don't think of work as being particularly dangerous . . .

Day 145-My Cube
After having an office at the Church Magazines, I get to experience cubicle life! It's not so bad, but our floor is really quiet. (Welcome to the life of being an editor!) So, here's my cube:
Wait, what is this?! Who's desk is next to mine? Why, it's John Bytheway's!Of course, I haven't actually seen him, but still. It's my little brush with fame.

Day 144-It's . . . Public Transport Man!
Though UTA is not the best public transport in the world, it has helped me a lot these past 5 years. Especially the past 5 months as I have used it to get to my internships. And it will be useful the next year as I work on my internship at Deseret Book and start my internship at the Joseph Smith Papers in August!

Day 136-Sitting By the Phone
Let's be honest, most of the day I was sitting on my phone as I waited for an internship opportunity to call me about setting up an interview. Part way through the day I noticed that for some reason I hadn't been getting any bars for I don't know how long which sent me into a panic thinking I had missed the phone call. The panic lasted about 2 seconds and then my reasonable side kicked in and reminded me that if they had tried to call, they would call back again.

Day 134-It's Like Wow!
Today I went out and did something I've never done before . . . bought something that was advertised on an informercial.
Yes, I bought a Sham-wow! As seen on TV!! Holds many times its weight in liquid!See, the thing is, I have a bit of a leak problem in my fridge, which results in large puddles of water on my shelves every couple of days or so. It is simply too much water for a regular towel to properly soak up. It has been a very frustrating thing. Well, I was at the dollar store to day and saw the shammy there. I thought, hey it's only a dollar and if anything it's going to be better than a towel.
I don't know about the holding "many times its weight in water," but it did do the job a lot better than a towel. I think my dollar was well spent.

Day 127-Being Crafty
I am not a crafty person. I am not one of those women who can make cute little things out of whatever they happen to have lying around. I don't scrapbook. So, the fact that I could make a cupcake out of a onesie and a receiving blanket shows you how easy it is. But it looks crafty--and that's what I'm all about!

Day 124-The Tale of the Uncooperative Mouth Guard
Gather my children and you shall hear
a tale of much gagging and orthodonture!
Once upon a time . . .
I went to the dentist for my 6 month cleaning. While there I mentioned to them about how I had started clenching and grinding my teeth in my sleep. So, my dentist decided to make a mold for a mouth guard to wear at night. The mold was a horrible experience--I have never had to do that before, and icky! But it was over soon enough and an appointment was made for the next week so I could get my guard.
One week later:
I go to the dentist for my guard. When he puts it in to see how it fits, he discovers that it is too loose and can't do anything about it, except . . . take another mold and make another one! Lucky me. Well, my gag reflex got another exercise. Ick. And another appointment was made for the next day (today).
Now, it isn't like it's easy to get to my dentist's office. I have to borrow the parents' car and drive 45 minutes to get there. So driving it twice in two days in kind of hard. My only hope this morning was that this guard would fit.
It fit better than the last one, but the dentist was still a little concerned about it. So, I have to go back in a week to check it.
